Wondering how to install solar power system and do not know where to start? Realistically speaking, I will not be able to cover all you need to know about how to install solar power system here in this short article. I can, however, give you an overview of the subjects you need to focus on to get yourselves started especially if you are thinking of doing a DIY project.
Before we start, the topics listed can in one way or another be found on the internet. However, due to the tons of information out there, you may find yourselves overwhelmed by the sheer amount of info you will come across before you even start. You might also come across bogus information from unreliable sources. From my experience, it is much more efficient to go for a guide that not only has all the essential topics, but also has proven records. It also has to be easy to read and follow for DIY novices. Anyway, let’s look at what information you need first:
1. Firstly, an overall picture of how the system works and if applicable, alternative ways it can be set up based on requirements and environment. This is important to get you started on the theories behind the system. You should not need to spend too much time here. If you need 2 days to digest what the whole system is about, it is too complicated for you as a beginner.
2. How to get hold of the components. You may think that building a system to generate electricity from solar is going to be expensive. Not anymore. You can in fact build the entire system using parts easily available at your local hardware store. A good guide will teach you how to install solar power system with the best components at the lowest bargain.
3. How to install solar power system. This will include detailed instructions of how you connect the components together, bearing in mind the electrical requirements and settings, as well as troubleshooting. Let me say this again, it is absolutely possible for a complete novice to learn how to install solar power system and it does not take months. The deciding factor is whether you are willing to spend a few hours per week on the project for a lasting supply of electricity.
4. You need to track the amount of electricity you are generating with the system as well as how to store excess electricity that is not used so that you can use it later. The system is not complete without these 2 components.
Other topics that are also useful include how to install solar power system that is on-grid and off-grid and how to generate electricity with wind turbines.

Global warming and dSolarling supplies of fossil fuels have caused people from all corners of the globe to become concerned, resulting in a long overdue interest in the potential of Solar energy. On the other hand, many people have already embraced this free source of renewable energy and are already powering their homes with Solar energy.
Solar Energy
Radiation from our sun heats the air which in turn rises. As this warm air rises, so cooler air sinks down to replace it, resulting in perpetual Solar currents which cover the surface of our planet. Of course, Solar currents have energy and when one considers how devastating a hurricane or a tornado can be, it’s all to easy to imagine what a phenomenal amount of energy can be harnessed from the Solar.
Of course, for the purpose of powering your home with Solar energy, we’re only interested in more moderate Solars, suitable for Solar Panels. In essence, a Solar Panel is much the same as the old original Solar Panel; only Solar Panels incorporate technology which allows us to convert Solar power into electricity
Solar Panels
In the past, Solar farms, which can sometimes be seen on the roadside, were mainly used to supply remote areas which were of the grid as well as remote farms. Nowadays however, Solar Panels are becoming increasingly common even in residential areas that do receive grid supplied power. In this case, a Solar Panel can either reduce your consumption of grid power or even eliminate it altogether.
In order to achieve maximum stability, all Solar Panels have no less than three lightweight blades, usually made from PVC for extra durability.
As most are familiar with, a Solar Panel needs to be mounted on a tower and while those used on Solar farms can be more than a hundred feet high, residential towers only need to be high enough to ensure the Panel blades are above any structures which could obstruct the Solar. In addition to being mounted on a tower, the blade assembly is mounted on a shaft to enable it to swivel around as the Solar direction changes.
Home Solar Energy Systems
While Solar Panels can come in many shapes and sizes, those which are used for powering homes are divided into three kinds:
1) Grid inter-tied with backup battery
2) Grid inter-tied without backup battery
3) Off-Grid system
Irrespective of which system you use, all three systems harness Solar energy and convert it to electricity in exactly the same manner. The difference between the various systems lies in the wiring, and in the case where a battery is being used; electricity can be saved and used as and when required. In a system that has no battery, electricity is supplied directly into the home supply.
Solar Panels provide practically all homeowners with an ideal opportunity for powering the home with Solar energy. Not only will you save money on electric bills, but you’ll also be helping to build a greener world.

http://www.EnergyBrainiac.com – How to Make a Homemade Solar Panel
Solar panels, unlike before, are cheap and easy to install with great efficiency. With this advent, you can save big money as well as help save the environment. A DIY kit is available and has an easy to follow instruction with them. What you need is some simple tools and you’re done.
Here is your guide to make a homemade solar panel:
1. First, you must know the loads of your solar panel and the package that is affordable to you. One watt of solar panel module will coast you about $25 and a 200 watts module is around $1000. If you need more power, you can connect this to form a collector to produce your desired power needs. Electrical connections are made in series to achieve a desired output voltage and/or in parallel to provide a desired amount of current capability.
2. After selecting the solar panel modules, you need a charge controller which is an important system component that regulates the voltage generated by the solar panel. This will regulate your power and provide protection to the batteries from being over or under-charged.
3. Next, you need a solar inverter this will convert 12 volt DC (direct current) from solar panel to 125 volts AC (alternating current) which will feed your appliances. Some high end inverters combine an inverter, battery charger and dual transfer switch in one package.
4. Batteries are needed if there is no sun or there is a blackout in your area. Typically, lead acid batteries are use because of performance and cost. Newer lead-acid battery is called maintenance free and this does not require water addition, but this is expensive. The battery is one of the first components of your solar panel to be replaced. Usually, a battery can have 200 to 300 charge/discharge cycle because of corrosion and depletion of active materials. So, be prepared to change batteries in about a year. Typical price of batteries ranges from 100 to 500 dollars.
5. Also, you must consider the battery enclosure as this are toxic and can explode. Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Panel Mounting System is where your panel will be installed. You can choose either at the roof, pole, or at the ground. There are so many designs to choose from and some have motors to track the sun.
6. The last, but certainly the most important one, is that make sure to have your wire connection checked by qualified technician. Faulty electrical wiring is the most common fire hazard today.
Now that you know how to make a homemade solar panel, you can now start this DIY project with ease. It’s affordable and simple without having to worry about your monthly expenditure on electricity anymore.

http://www.WindEnergyGuide.net – Save $223 a Month With Residential Solar Panels
Residential solar panels are becoming more popular as people are scrambling to spend less on coal and oil energy, and help the planet at the same time. While the debate on global warming is still going on, learning about solar power and what it can do for your right NOW, is a great idea for anyone who wants to save.
Solar power comes from the sun, everyday when the sun comes out, the solar panels soak up the energy from the sun, and then convert the energy into power (electricity) we can use in our homes. It sounds like a great idea. Take free energy from the sun, convert it into electricity you can use in your home, and stop paying the electric bill, right?
Unfortunately, it is the conversion of the energy that seems to be the problem. If you go out today and try to buy solar panels for your home, you are looking to spend as little as $12,000, and that is if you have a regular ranch or small two floor home. There are options though when it comes to residential solar panels. You can buy used solar panels, or you can make your own.
The used panels’ price really depends on where you get them, and how long they have been used, but in most cases you will pay for the removal of them from the old buildings and the installation of them to your home, again, the price isn’t pretty. You might save a few thousand, but be prepared to pay a lot.
On the other hand you could build your own residential solar panel. It might sound like a crazy idea, but it has worked for thousands of people, and everyday, more people are learning the necessary steps to building their own solar panels. There are a lot of benefits to building your own, too. You get a much lower price. If you just go out today and buy the parts for one, you will pay $200, but if you buy the parts for several today, you will pay much less for bulk prices. You need more than 1 to run a household though. You could need several. The best part is, you don’t have to front all of the money at once, you can build additional ones as you find you need them and you save the money from paying electric bills.
As more people are learning to build their own solar panels, it is getting easier for the rest of us. There are now several places to learn how to make your own solar panels, and as more people do it, the price of the parts should come down as well.
Discover How I Made My Own Residential Solar Panels… It was actually pretty easy. I tell you all about it on my site

http://www.SolarStirlingPlants.net is a revolutionary invention that uses the sun to create free electricity. And no, we are not talking about the solar panel. This is a different solar energy generator called the Stirling Plant, it is a system that harnesses up to 12x more energy than the expensive solar photovoltaic energy systems. The best part about it, it is much cheaper to build than regular solar panels, and it is easy to build, meaning you do not have to have any technical skills prior to building it. The Solar Stirling Plant harnesses the power of the sun, thus it produces free and clean renewable energy and it works fully off the grid. This is a new method of generating free energy. The concept of the Solar Stirling Plant has been researched for quite a while, and now after the we perfected the design and simplified it to a point that everybody can design it, we decided to make it available to the public. The Solar Stirling Plant operates by using a parabolic reflector dishes to gather all the sun rays which are focused and concentrated into one single spot – wich is in focus of the parabolic dish, where the stirling engine will be placed. When the sun rays are focused into one spot on which the solar stirling plant is located, the temperature difference makes the engine rotate at a fast pace and create massive amounts of energy, unseen by other renewable energy devices such as solar panels or wind turbines. As a source of heat the Solar Stirling Plant uses parabolic reflector dishes to gather all the sun rays which are focused and concentrated in one spot – in focus of the parabolic dish, where the stirling engine will be placed. Instead of trying to generate power from the scattered sun rays like the basic solar panel does, by focusing the rays onto the Solar Stirling plant it is possible to generate 12 times as much energy than the regular solar panels, and generate enough energy to significantly reduce your power bill. A Device Which Is Cheaper And Vastly Superior To Regular Solar Panels For Generating Your Own Free Energy And Becoming Fully Independent From The Greedy Power Companies. The demand for electricity is never ending, and with the prices of electricity rising each day, the monopoly of the power companies continues to drain money from our pockets. Make no mistake the situation will get much worse, and the average Joes like us are the ones that suffer the most. Fortunately, now there is a viable alternative that allows us to take immediate action, and generate our own electricity by harnessing the power of the sun. Additional benefits of the Solar Stirling Plant are: The system is easy to build and even a person with zero technical knowledge can construct it. Works in all conditions, regardless of the temperature outdoors, and generates energy even in cloudy weather. It can eliminate your power bill up to 50% when implemented on smaller scale, and when implemented on larger scale it will eliminate it completely and you can even sell the electricity to the power companies. There is no need of any special tools, and the material needed to build it can be obtained anywhere in the world. The building process is simplified with easy-to-follow steps. Even a complete novice would be able to follow them. Several how to pictures and diagrams have been included to make the building process even easier. Up to 10 times more efficient than regular solar panels. Runs quietly and it is eco-friendly, it does not pollute the environment. The Solar Stirling Plant can be easy implemented and connected onto your existing power grid in your household, One of our main priority was making the device easy to build, so that everyone can implement in regardless of technical knowledge and location. heat heater help home homemade house how instructions kits live make parabolic mirror market money natural advantages alternative benefits bill build cell cells cheap conservation cost diy solar stirling efficiency efficient electric electricity eliminate energy environment free fuel generate generator global green grid panel panels plant power renewable residential resources review save scam sell sun engine motor generator dish system technology transformers turbine turbines wind windmills work

http://www.SolarEnergyGuide.net – How to Make Solar – A Quick And Easy 101 Guide to Solar Energy Production
Making a solar at home is quite a daunting task and something that shouldn’t be attempted without fully committing oneself to a great deal of work. It may not be rocket science but it is certainly a tricky and laborious process. If you are the type of person who thinks a hammer is nothing but am odd-shaped door stop, it may be in your best interest to leave the solar construction to professionals.
Having said that, making your own solar s can really be a rewarding home project and by taking on such a project yourself you can significantly cut your costs – by 50 to 80% – over a commercially available solar .
Since the prohibitive cost of solar s is in large part due to the high price of solar cells, you will achieve most of your cost reduction by purchasing damaged and used solar cells from sites such as Ebay. After that, using your ingenuity and some handy DIY skills, the only thing between you and a working solar is time and effort.
For now however, let’s take on a much more simple task and make a single solar cell. This project is great fun and can show the basic and simple concept behind solar energy.
What You Will Need:
1. Copper sheeting.
2. Two alligator clip lead cables.
3. A sensitive micro-ammeter you can find this at Radio Shack.
4. An electric stove or a one burner hot plate should you have a gas stove . If you are buying a hot plate make sure it’s at least 1100 watts.
5. A large clear plastic bottle. Think 2 Liter Coke or Mineral Water bottles with the top cut off.
6. A few tablespoons of salt.
7. Water.
8. Sand paper, steel wool or a wire brush attachment for an electric drill.
9. Metal sheers.
How It’s Done: Cut a piece of copper sheeting at approximately the size of the stove burner. Make sure to thoroughly clean the copper sheet using sandpaper or steel wool to remove any sulfide and/or light corrosion. Heat the copper sheet on the burner on the highest heat setting As the copper increases its’ temperature the color will turn black with a layer of cupric oxide. This is normal. Let the copper “cook” for around 30 minutes. After 30 minutes turn of the burner and let the copper cool. It will shrink – also quite normal. The black cupric oxide will begin to flake and detach as both the oxide and copper shrink. It will take approximately 20 minutes for the copper to cool, at which point you will need to remove any excess cupric oxide black film left on the copper. You can scrub lightly with your hands under your tap. At this point cut another piece of copper at exactly the same size and dimensions as the “cooked” copper. Place both copper sheets into the plastic bottle, bending them carefully to fit and ensuring they do not touch. Attach the two alligator clips to each sheet, connecting the positive lead from the “Clean copper sheet” to the positive terminal of the meter, and the negative lead the “cooked” copper sheet to the negative terminal of the meter. Mix your 2 tablespoons of salt in with some hot water. Stir until the salt is dissolved. Carefully pour the salt water into the plastic bottle being careful to avoid pouring onto the leads. A good rule of thumb is to leave at least an inch between the water and the leads so you can move around the device with relative ease.
A solar cell is a battery, so you can expect that even in the dark your meter will show a few microamps of current. Don’t expect that it will light a baseball field though, and it would take acres of these literally to power your house. I sincerely doubt there would be enough power generated by this to power a light bulb. However, once you put this device in the sunlight you will see the meter jump to 30+ microamps of current – which would be enough to use your new solar cell as a light meter or light detector.
